Once upon a time there was a little girl who wanted something that she saw in the Crate and Barrel mail order catalog. Here is the picture of the "Rojo Bookcase." The little girl said to no one in particular, "I think that I might be able to appreciate such a piece of furniture more if I were to make it myself." She immediately realized, though, that as a first woodworking project it might be somewhat daunting--she would need to choose her project "companion" very carefully. And that, she did.

The little girl had an uncle who just happened to have a fully-equipped woodworking shop, many acres of timber, and a soft spot for one of his favorite nieces. ;-)

A phone call was made to her uncle's social planner (her aunt), a time was set, and plans were made to begin the work.
